Eco Warriors
Our Eco Warriors are a group of like-minded individuals who want to make our planet and school environment healthier and more sustainable for all. The pupils, from Y4-6, work together on environmental projects of their choice and have been very pro-active in the past year, working on many projects such as:
- A healthy Air, healthy schools project with Trees for Cities, Mapping for Change and Lancaster University
- Devising and carrying out a pollution monitoring project around the school grounds
- Feeding back data to Lambeth Council and other stakeholders to ensure change
- Consulting with Lambeth council on the proposed LTN
- Writing letters to our local MP and councillors regarding air quality and the changes they would like
- Anti-idling campaign
- Community litter picking days
- Recording data for The Big walk and Wheel event
We run a weekly Fuel for school market, ensuring food does not go to waste each week and supplying our school community with healthy food on a pay-as-you-feel basis. The food is delivered to us by Fareshare, who redistribute edible food from supermarkets that would normally be sent to land fill.
