World Book Day 2016

World Book Day 2016

World Book Day 2016 – Thursday 3rd  March 2016

Dress up!

At Sunnyhill we love to celebrate books and reading. On World Book Day your child can dress up as a character from their favourite book. There will be a parade in school and all children taking part will receive a certificate! At Sunnyhill we celebrate the effort the children put in to making their costumes but any costume is also welcomed and Friends of Sunnyhill are collecting costumes donations in the office.

Sunnyhill Story

Classes will be having a creative day taking part in writing a whole school ‘garden’ story which will be available to read at the Environment exhibition, illustrating their stories, Maths activities around books and reading and lots of opportunities to discover, experience and explore books.

Listen to a story 3.15-4.45 in the Main Hall

On this day come and listen to a story with your child in the Main Hall after school. With thanks to Friends of Sunnyhill who are helping to run this.

Mini book shop for children

On Friday 4th March there will be a mini book shop in school. Your child will receive a £1 book token and will be able to swap the £1 book token for a book at the mini book shop during the school day. No money is needed. Have a look at the World Book Day website to see the titles this year.
